The use of eyeglasses or contacts is common everywhere and in all walks of life but looking for options to them have always been hard to find and in some circles it is believed that a persons eyesight will deteriorate during the course of one’s life.  This is not necessarily so if you are willing to take the time to exercise your eyes and keep them in shape as well as the human eye is basically a muscle and needs to be exercised as well to keep it in tip top shape.

The biggest problem with eyeglasses or contacts is that your eyes will get used to the new grade and end up working less and less and soon you will need stronger lenses until the point of sight deterioration.   Now there are some reasons for people to wear eyeglasses due to head trauma or a congenital condition but eye exercises can always help as well.

  • Far and near focusing is great for your eyes, start by placing your hand about one foot in  front of your face. then focus both eyes on your hands for 5 seconds and move your hand slightly out of the way and focus on an object 5 to 10 feet away from you then repeat the process by placing your hand once again in front of you.  You can do this for three minutes and take a break for three and repeat.  About ten minutes of this routine will help your eyes out tremendously and you will notice that your sight will be better after a few weeks.
  • Blinking your eyes for periods of 2 minutes is great for the eyes as the periods of darkness allow your eyes to stay fresh and to discharge previously acquired information and thus is helpful in reducing eye strain.
  • Zooming is also great for your eyes and can be done quite simply.  Start by placing your thumb out at arm’s length in front of you and slowly bring your thumb close to your nose or as close as you can bring it in while in focus.  Repeat this process for periods of three minutes for a total of ten minutes in total.

Your eyes perform some quite incredible task and if you can keep them in shape you will be guaranteed continued good sight and also might get you to the point that you will not even need your contacts and eyeglasses ever again.
