We all have chemicals in our brain known as neurotransmitters. Each are secreted by different glands, like the thyroid, pituitary or adrenal glands and have their own individual functions. These neurotransmitters are responsible for the transmission of the different signals sent by the ‘senses’ across the synapses from one neuron to another.
Serotonin is one of the most important of the neurotransmitters. Approximately 80-90% of the serotonin in our bodies can be found in the digestive tract and is responsible for the intestinal movements. The remaining 10-20% is synthesized in the central nervous system. Here it has a variety of functions including but not limited to mood, sleep, and appetite. It can also be found in blood platelets.
Recently it was discovered that the pineal gland is responsible for the stimulation of both melatonin and serotonin. The pineal gland though not well known is responsible for the function of 5 other glands. These 5 other glands are responsible for a wide variety of functions, so if the pineal gland is malfunctioning it will have an effect on the other 5 glands. Therefore maintain the health of the pineal gland impacts the function of the rest.
Research shows that low serotonin levels are present in a number of conditions including depression. Modern medicine has developed synthetic serotonin drugs for use in the treatment of depression and migraine headaches with some success. One of the most common drugs is Prozac for the treatment of depression. The synthetic drugs target and bind to serotonin receptors only. The problem is that the synthetic drugs effect only the one active ingredient, therefore leading to much higher chances of side effects.
Noni juice, made from the pulp of the Noni fruit imitates the secretion released from the pineal gland. It also aides in building it up promoting better function. The Noni fruit known as the miracle fruit, has over 150 phytonutraceuticals and of the 20 amino acids it contains 17 of them including all 10 of the essential amino acids. Tryptophan is the amino acid responsible for the manufacturing of serotonin. Noni juice helps to maintain tryptophan levels during times of mental or physical stress. It also allows the biochemistry in our bodies to react to hormones and other things that are released in response to stress more positively.
Because of the lack of side effects from the Noni juice it makes a great alternative in the treatment of numerous disorders. It is also safe for all ages including teenagers suffering from depression.
