Nearly 75 percent of the populations struggle with constipation and many believe that this number will eventually rise to 85-90 percent. It seems that constipation is a problem that most of us have to deal with at some point or another and it would seem right to give some tips on how to treat and prevent constipation in the future. To be healthy we need to eat foods and supplements that are free of additives and enhancers that are harmful to the human body and we also need to eat the right foods so that our bodies can absorb them without leaving or creating residue that can turn toxic in our colons. Fast foods are notorious for foods that stick to your ribs and basically also stick to your colon as they are high in preservatives and heavy additives that basically slow down the food processing in your bowel and cause more of the bad additives to be absorbed into your system.
The first question that you should ask yourself is simply, “how many bowel movements do I have per day?” Various types of colitis (which is a deterioration of the colon walls) can be reversed with good nutrition and awareness of what foods are actually good for your colon. The human body needs good and regular bowel movements and colon functions or otherwise you will experience many illnesses, colon discomforts including constipation and sooner or later with continued lack of attention to your colon you will eventually have a heart attack, or suffer from cancer as the pathogenic organisms and so on cause more deaths in the United States alone than in any other country in the world. If your colon becomes toxic then your blood will become toxic and these toxins will reach every part of your body through your blood. This will inevitably cause a decrease in efficiency in all organs and overtime will cause the body to become diseased.
Your colon provides water key and nutrients to every part of your body so when you begin to suffer from degeneration in another organ you might take a look at the actual health of your colon. The key to a healthy a clean colon is to eat foods that are heavy in fiber and basically includes all dark green vegetables.
Foods that are great for your colon and will keep your colon nice and healthy include:
- Yoghurt- as it helps in promoting a clean and healthy colon because of the acidophilus that it contains. This substance also prevents microorganisms by consuming the foods that they would otherwise eat inside your colon. These probiotics aid in defending our colons against serious infections by simply destroying any harmful bacteria.
- Fibrous foods are also great to eat like dark green vegetables, beans, nuts, oatmeal and whole grain products and will also prevent your body from absorbing any fat that you have ingested from getting absorbed into your system.
- Garlic is also wonderful for keeping a healthy colon as it aids in healing and also rids the colon of harmful parasite. So try to include more of this into your food dishes.
So the next time that you are sitting on your “throne” and wondering why your having such a hard time, be mindful of what you eat and how you prepare your foods so you will have a better chance of keeping your colon free and clean of dangerous bacteria and blockage that will otherwise lead you down a road of pain and misery.
