Did you know that the diet that you presently have is probably depleting the bones in your body of important nutrients and also increasing your chances of developing osteoporosis?  Well all these new and promising quick weight loss diets that continually dangle but never deliver its promised weight loss results actually withhold your intake of calcium and many other crucial nutrients which will lead one to bone degeneration.  Women who continually limit the amount of food that they eat to deter weight gain should pay particular attention to their actual calcium intake say a recent study from ARS researchers in California.

The study involved looking into the eating behavior of women ages 18 to 50 and discovered that those that were classified as “restrainer eaters” had dramatically lowered their bone mineral content which is an important indicator or bone health and strength, and their bone density as well, when compared with women who weren’t concerned with what they ate.

The researchers advised that by eating a well balanced diet and exercising are the best ways to keep ones bones healthy and strong.  So remember to eat lots of Yogurt, drink plenty of whole milk, low and non fat, eat all cheeses like cheddar, Mozzarella and Swiss, milk shakes are also encouraged as well as eggnog, especially during the holiday season.

Also include plenty of Salmon, sardines, tofu and rhubarb as non dairy sources of calcium and can be used in case your kid is allergic to dairy products.  Calcium is not only wonderful for your bones but can help one maintain an incredibly healthy and low fat diet and keep osteoporosis away for good.
