We have all heard it many times over that the best way to lose weight is by eating a properly balance diet and by repeatedly exercising.  But between you and I, pounding on a treadmill while staring at a wall or television just doesn’t inspire me and leaves me unfulfilled.  The problem with routine workouts is that we set ourselves up for failure by trying to force ourselves into an activity we hate with a passion. Once you have committed to exercise then it becomes a matter of finding fun and exciting ways not only to work out but to also turn exercising into a fun passion and keep you coming back for more.

Either way you are assured to burn lots of calories, stay fit and have fun all at once.

Loosing weight by staying active in things like dancing can be fun and healthy.

  1. The Mayo Clinic has estimated that a person could easily burn anywhere between 200 to 300 calories through dancing and possibly more depending on the type of exercise a person chooses to do.  If you like to visit nightclubs please have the assurance that for every 15 minutes of club dancing a 105 pound person can burn around 60 calories and a 170 pound person can burn up to 97 calories per hour.  Do be mindful that what you drink at the club will also have an effect on your loss of calories. Stick to fresh juices and plenty of water and you will do just fine and burn lots of calories. Now if you’re a stay a home person then just pop your favorite track into your IPod and buggy the night away. Either way you are assured to burn lots of calories, stay fit and have fun all at once.
  2. Walk and talk.  That’s right; you can talk while you chat on the cell phone. Instead of plopping down on the couch, pace around the room or go outside in the yard.  The simple act of pacing can raise your metabolism and thus burn more calories without even thinking about it. If you weigh 125 lbs. you can burn around 60 calories per half hour. If you weigh 200 lbs. you can burn around 120 per half hour and if you weigh over 300 lbs. you can burn around 180 calories per half hour. The more you talk the more you burn. You do the math.
  3. This may sound a bit goofy but try hula hopping. If you’re looking for a fun way to get in and stay in shape? Hooping is the hottest new fitness trend that is great fun, cheap and can give you an incredible aerobic workout. Studies have shown that a person can burn up to 100 calories per 10 minutes while hula hooping. Your body will burn a much higher percentage of calories from fat when they are hooping at a lower intensity, but if one hula hoops with a higher intensity they will surely burn a greater amount of calories.

 

Be sure to include a careful diet with lots of fruits and vegetables and plenty of protein and you will for sure be feeling and looking better in no time.
