That’s no typo either; you can actually lose weight while sleeping.  It has been shown in a recent report that the brain which takes up only 2% of your body’s weight but is actually responsible for over 20% of your body’s energy consumption.  When we sleep we experience rapid eye movement which is when we dream and it is interesting to note that the brains metabolic rate goes up dramatically and consumes loads of energy and more than when you are actually awake!

Results from a recent study show that those who were tested and revealed that people lose weight three times faster while snoozing than while being awake in bed.

There are many things which can be extremely helpful in burning more calories while you sleep but the real trick is to maintain your body’s metabolism up throughout the day by eating small and frequent meals something like 5 to 7 times per day but keep in mind that I am not talking about eating a snickers and bags of chips in between meals either you have to know what to put into your body which will naturally elevate your metabolism naturally so remember eating small meals or snacks every few hours will not only increase your metabolism but will keep your appetite up as well just remember to keep your meals small and nutritionally packed always staying away from sodas and foods high in saturated fats which will make you fatter and foods high in high fructose corn syrup which will give you cancer and diabetes to name a couple.  It’s also important not to go to bed hungry as your body will automatically go into hibernation and burn as little calories as possible so try eating a snacks like peanuts, real dark chocolate (not from Hershey’s either) with  a high cacao content.

Also regular exercise will help you burn calories and will be extremely helpful in burning extra calories as your body will need to repair and heal during your sleep and thus must boost your metabolism gently to receive the help in nurturing your body.

So there you have it if done properly you can burn calories while you sleep and at last a fast and super easy and painless way to lose weight, oh well I think I’m off to bed, sweet dreams.
