Memory games can help keep you remembering where you put your keys, well into old age.

The proper way to go about doing this is to first learn what elements can help our brains perform better. To start with our memory is stimulated by oxygen and nutrients which reaches the brain through the bloodstream.  So it would be logical to improve your blood flow.  Blood flow is very important and the smoother your blood can flow the better your capacity to remember things. To assure that your circulatory system works at its highest eat healthy, avoid fats and exercise daily. Daily exercise particularly the one performed outdoors is also a solution to the problem as to how to improve memory.   While trying to improve memory try going without caffeine and alcohol.  These are natural enemies of the brain and nervous system and need to be avoided in order for your brain to function properly.

  • Many say that drinking tea like ginseng, Gingko Biloba and Rosemary would be the key to memory improvement, which is true because they improve blood flow efficiently and relatively fast
  • Try puzzles or learn how to play chess. Chess promotes creativity and imagination and encourages one to be inventive.  It also teaches of to predict and foresee the consequences of actions like teaching you to look both ways before you cross the street.
  • Include plenty of broccoli, spinach, berries, and onions in your diet. These veggies contain lots of phytochemicals, anthocyanin and quercetin, which can actually reverse some of the age related memory deficits in laboratory animals. They also contain lots of folic acid and have a direct effect of your memory.
  • When you meet a new person, it is important to pay attention to the name and the face, try repeating the person’s name three times, once out loud and twice in your head, after you have been introduced and then it back to the person by saying, “nice to meet you, so-and-so.” Researchers have found that you have a 30% percent better chance of remembering a name when they repeat it as soon as people learn it.
