Most commonly known as the silent killer high blood pressure can sneak up on you and cause some serious damage to your overall health it not properly monitored. Those who do not seek medical care can suffer the consequences of organ damage cause by ongoing and long term high blood pressure. Many people who have high blood pressure do not even know that they have it and these are the ones that are most at risk since the damage done can include heart attacks, stroke, heart failure, kidney failure and eye damage with continuable vision loss.

The key is to identify the symptoms way before these serious effects begin to show.  High blood pressure has been known to cause shortness of breath, headaches, chest pains, blurred vision, dizziness, nausea and vomiting. Malignant hypertension, the diastolic blood pressure can often go beyond 140 mm hg. And symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, stroke like symptoms, headaches and lightheartedness.

Sometimes intervention is the only way to get those you love whom you suspect to have high blood pressure to seek a medical evaluation and on the right track as well so don’t be shy about suggesting or even setting up an appointment for your “superman” at home who may be showing signs but is to headstrong to do something about it.  Remember that many of these symptoms may go unnoticed for many years all the while causing progressive damage to your internal organ, especially your heart.

When in doubt go and get a medical checkup and make sure that you are doing well and always maintain a healthy diet along with plenty of physical exercise per week. This should give you better quality of life not only for you but for your loved ones as well.
