This algae is enriched with vitamins and nutrients and also contains high proteins, is fibrous, contains lots of phytonutrients and phycocyanin and has a good balance of amino and nucleic acids.

This algae is great for athletes as it is rich in protein, vitamin B complex, B1, B2 and B3.  It is also rich in calcium, B-carotene (good for your eyes), Iron and can increase physical strength and performance and is beneficial for great workouts.  Also may dieters have found that taking a few spirulina tablets one hour before mealtime to be very helpful in satisfying their appetite so they end up eating a lot less food.  Senior citizens also have a lot to gain from taking spirulina as its compounds contain the great B-carotene, which is a superb anti-aging and anti-oxidant properties that help detoxify the body of heavy metals and many other contaminants and its calcium content is wonderful in reducing the possibility of osteoporosis.
