In today’s world with millions of fancy colored drink ads everywhere you look featuring cold and refreshing drinks (but really are laden with chemicals that can damage and are damaging your internal organs and causing loads of diseases) its hard to know whats really healthy anymore. And with the influx of more additives, preservatives and artificial sweeteners in those cold drinks it can become and is becoming out right dangerous to drink the first thing you get your hands on. Having recently walked into a 24 hour vending store I soon came to the drink fridges and stood in wonder at the tremendous variety of drinks to choose from every size shape, color and form imaginable. I soon came to realize that there was not much to choose from that was natural and real and had none of the before mentioned additives etc, and even caught myself suspiciously eying the water bottles. I have also stood in awe at the footballs games were all the players are drinking this Gatorade drink that supposedly is supposed to quench your thirst etc. Drinking healthy is all about making time to drink healthy and stop from being so gullible to those colorful ads featuring ice cold and refreshing drinks with a hint of artificial lime. Drinking healthy should be not only good for you but fun as well.
The cool delight of drinking a refreshingly cold fresh mango and pineapple smoothie can be overpowering not only for the fact that it is incredibly delicious in flavor and texture but that you know that your drinking something that is fresh and great for you and taste oh so good. The act of peeling then slicing a pineapple in half, then cutting it into chunks then adding to the blender with some water, honey and ice and feeling that blender come to life is satisfying maybe add some fresh strawberries through the top when its almost finished and voala! You have created a delicious fresh drink that will have you coming back for more and more and not hurt your pocket book in the process.
the most important thing about making your own drinks is that you have the right tools. A good blender is a solid place to start then being able to choose the right fruits at their ripest and are most flavorful will also be useful and choosing when and how much to sweeten it up with will come useful as well.
