Default How Many Months of Training Before First Comp.....
    Hey Ladies.....

How many months of training should one do before their first figure competition? I was lifting on and off last year due to injury.....now I'm healthy and want to do a figure but I've obviously lost some muscle.

I've competed in bikini and so called "fitness" comps....but I really want to do my first figure comp.

I am a 5 day a week "let's build some ****ing muscle!!!" program right now. My comp is in Oct.....does that give me enough time to build a decent amount of muscle? A friend of mine is starting from scratch (mentioned this in other threads) competing in Oct also.

Is it worth it to compete? Or should I just build muscle until 2008? What about her?

October is a fair bit away hun. What are your stats like now? Do you know what your bodyfat is at right now as well? With Figure, you don't want to be over muscled or you can get judged down for that. You can do a lot with your body in seven months if you train hard and take the right supplements.

I don't know my bodyfat. You can see like a 4 pac of abs....not my lower abs though. Just upper.....not deep but deep enough to notice.

What kind of supplements do you suggest? I take protein powder, multivitamin and fish oils.

Definitley good on the multivitamin and protein powder. Which powder are you using? How much fish oils? You may want to also take some Udo's Oil to get extra good fats in. I use Udo's Oil twice a day right now, using 1 tablespoon at a time. I always have one in the morning and then again right before bed with my protein shake.
Do you use any creatine supplements? That will definitely help you with strength. I like BSN's NoXplode I use one scoop with water before I train and then I use bsn's Cell Mass after I train. I absolutley love the stuff!
If you don't like using creatine, you can substitute the NoXplode for Nitrix.
    Hope that helps babe.

I appreciate the advice. I take 6 fish oil tabs per day. I have one to two tablespoons of Udo's....usually just one. My protein powders are mega milk cookies n cream by dynamatize and banana flavor Eas. I've never tried creatine supplements before.

mmm...i love the mega milk cookies n cream.
    What's your weight at now?
I would definitely look into getting your bodyfat done. Make sure it's someone who is experienced in doing it, especially if they are using fat calipers.
