    Default Squats every other day
I suck at squats. When I try and do them once or twice a week my form sucks and then I end up pulling a muscle as I get heavier. I have switched to for time a week so I can improve my form and endurance. First day ill work up to 2 sets of 8 (as heavy as possible), two days later high rep 20 x bodyweight, 20 x bar, 20 x 135 9this is to keep my stretch), two days later work up to one set heavy 5 or 3, next day high rep 20xbodyweight, 20 x bar, 20 x 135. I am trying to add 10lbs every other week to my heavy day. Im up to 275 right now. I am mid forties, wiegh 227, bf around 17%. By the way I now the numbers are low I can easily bench more then this. All squats are ass to the floor and on heavy day Iget a spotter to make sure im not "good morning" the wieghts up.

My question, my goal is to someday soon do 20 x 315. Do you think i can make progess over the next 12 wks with this pattern. I also deadlift on Wednesdays and do an upper body workout 2x week.

Do the words over training read in order mean anything to you?

Well on the one hand youre not overdoing it for the week on working sets, but on the other you still need time to recover between workouts. Id be surpised if you kept making progess for long but you never know. I honestly think you should stick to a proven program like the Bill star 5x5 if youre trying to get strong. It lets you squat 2x per week.

Take it slower man. You may make gains for the first two or 3 weeks, but i think your setting yourself up for failure.

yeah, you are probably right. I am cutting out one of the stretch days. So ill do 8's one day, light reps day day3, heavy day 5. God sent me a message when i deadlifted to day in the form of a pulled muscle. Was doing 10 singles at 385 and decided to to a couple of extra triples..stupid...
