    Default Abs Workout Advice Needed
For years I been doing hundreds if not thousands of situps and crunches every week on and off. Seems no matter how many I do, the only time I can see my abs is in the dead of summer when Im sweating 24/7, and doing a lot of running.

Is there anything I can do to improve this? Any other exercises that help more than shitty situps and crunches? I have to eat some fats cause I run so much. If I dont eat a decent amount of carbs and fats then I get thin and I cant stand that.

Anyways Im open to any and all advice. Tired of this layer of fat...pisses me off.

I'd imagine it has to b somthing in your diet. You can train abs as much as you want but if your diet isnt keyed in then you wont lose the fat ergo no six pack.

Yea, its all about being lean. You have to train them, but no amount of training will matter if they're obscured by fat.

Well if you want to get your abs to "pop out" you are going to need to do cardio that will tap into your fat stores which means a minimum of 45 mins to see good results. Fat shouldn't be high in your diet you absolutely need fat but get "good" fat calories ex-nuts, fish, vegatable oils opposed to trans/saturated oils. And if your doing excess endurance exercise you might want to increase protein stores. If your running 5 miles + a day you want to increase those stores otherwise your body with essentially catabolize muscle as a form of energy. As far as your ab routine I think your lacking variety, just situps and crunches won't do it for you, also if your looking to do situps and crunches add weight, you should use weight with any body part when looking to increase strength and or mass. Some exercises I would recommend will help with overall strength and most importantly core stability. (Turkish get-ups, hanging! hip flexion, reversed crunches, side crunches, russian twists, bicycles, static leg holds at 6 inches, 45 and 90 degrees. planks and side planks) let me know if you need anymore help I work with a strength coach for the athletic teams here at a D1 college program
