Default I think I tore something! Help!
Ok, Now I'm not an expert on muscle names and such but I was bench pressing today when on my 6 or 7th rep i felt a slight tear on that big shoulder/chest muscle(pretend your raising your hand, that muscle connecting shoulder chest,). I didn't tear it completely as I was able to get the wieght up but after I was unable to do any heavy chest. It felt like if I if I did one more heavy set it would rip. Any guys have any advice on how to go about healing this. Do I just stretch real good and then do light, light chest to build it back up.

I can still work out but I'm scared to do any chest excercises cause I wanna more than anything avoid a serious problem

    Thanks in advance fellas..

is it all black and blue where you felt the rip? If no, you didnt tear it and most likely strained it

No, it's not black and blue. It really does feel more like a strain. I literally felt the muscle pulling apart on one rep and like an idiot I kept going, the next 2 reps felt like I it was real close to a tear. So, what do you suggest? Keep lifting very light for chest, take a week or 2 off of chest, take 1-2 weeks off completely???

FYI I'm on a Test Cycle right now(600week) been on for quite a while and plan on staying on for about another month and half.

Agreed if you have any other worries about it I'd go see a specialist. 9 times out of 10 someones probs gonna need to examin you before they could give a diagnosis somthing that a forum cannot do.

But on a guess it does sound like a strain rest it up probs 4-6 weeks and it should start to feel better.

When you get back to working chest train light and use strict form to avoid causing any more probs in future, then gradually build weight back up.

Just woke up this morning and it feels sore but no more than yesterday. I'm gonna have it checked out this week, I'm getting married this Friday so it may have to wait a few days.

    Anymore advice is appreciated.

I second that I ignored the pain my knee for about a year within that time it progressivley got worse until I needed surgery and was out of action for an additional year. Its not worth ignoreing cos it'll catch up with ya and **** you up when it does.

Comiserations on the marrige bro, lol. Get that out the way and get to a doc.
