Yes it can add more to your bench but you have to do alot of practice in it.

From what im lead to believe it a shirt thats put together in a way that causes resistance againt the weight kinda like an extra layer of muscle that is constantly flexed.

Just youtube vids of powerlifters benching at meets and you'll see what a bench shirt is. It's basically a "supportive" gear.

They're meant to protect you from injury but they also add pounds do your lift though.

Yep, back in the day raw lifters were always injured, tearings pecs tris etc. Hardly anyone is injured anymore and theyre doings hundreds of lbs more. But yes, they add more weight if you know how to use them.

true but i bet the amount of missing teeth from eating the bar has risen with bench shirts lol . missing a groove in a high performance shirt can get ugly.

i dont know of anyone that comes down on there face, but if you have good spotters this shouldnt be a big concern.

when a HEAVY benche gets away from you with these new supe shirts its very common to have the bar drift above the face . im not talking about lifting that groove intentionally . spotters are great but when the weight gets to a certain amont multiple spotters are reccomended.
