    Default best ab exercises
I have never ever really done abs or focused on them and now that the rest of my body is coming along I really need to especially for a strong core. I was wondering what the best stuff for abs is and how frequently I should train them. I want to do some weighted stuff probably so that I can get the big bulky abs. any tips are appreciated

I do sit ups on a declined sit up bench with a 25 pound plate held to my chest and it works well.

I hate working abs but I try to train them EOD and vary between reverse crunches, surfboards simple and effective

i agree with drako...seems that a variety works best, trying to hit each region. regular crunches, decline sit-ups, some sort of trunk twists....i tend to shy away from most machines, but i will say that the old Nautilus crunch machine is worth using if you have access to one.

I don't train abs hardly ever and they got pretty huge somehow anyway. I know this is hotly debated and there are arguments for and against, but I've found that getting to the point where you can deadlift at least 2.5 times your bodyweight and squat around 2 times your bodyweight usually results in a very strong midsection. That's been my experience anyway.

Is this a good workout for women too? I want to have the washboard look without looking too manly.I have it started and it is on the way it is just the lowers that are harder for me. Let me know what you all think.

i like doing band crunches off of gnhr machine. ab fall outs are good. abs on a lat pull down, side bends, i like em all... do them 3-4 x a week at varied weights and reps.. usually higher though.

I'll show you some good exercises but you can do abs til you blue in the face. youre not going to have abs unless you diet.

^ What he said, working the muscle below the fat won't get rid of the fat.
