 Pitiuary Gland shutdown/TRT......
......my endo said that my current trt dose was to high and it was causing my pit gland to shut down, hence lowering my FSH,LH,SHBG.......and he recommended for me to decrease my dose to 75mg/week of test doen from 300mg/week,he said that would start up my pit gland producing test again....
But i disagree with him, because ive been on trt for 5 years now,and with no break,i know my testes doesnt and will never produce test again,so why does it matter if i stay with old dose of 300mg/week,since my testes isnt gonna produce it anymore.......and at the 75mg/week dose he recommended, thats just not going to be enough to stablize me with enough test to function in my opinion,
IMO the damage has already been done, not really damage, but my testes will not ever produce test anymmore,or at least not enough for me to have a normal life........Is my thinking wrong?
plus will i suffer any kind of damage, side effects from having my pit gland shut down all the time? The endo said that the high dose is what caused it to shut down,im confused

I have never heard of the pituitary restarting while on testosterone replacement. I also am a little confused on what the doctor means by "pituitary shut down"?
It is known that when supplementing testosterone that the negative feedback loop tells the pituitary to stop sending out FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) and LH (leutinizing hormone). So if thats what he meant by shut down, I dont see the problem because that is to be expected when your on TRT.
Using HCG along with your TRT protocol will basclly put the LH signal in your body, signaling the testes to make testosterone, but this too wiil further suppress LH via the negative feedback loop.
Hope this helps!
