Anyone know of anything I can buy in a vitamin shop or over the counter that can help reduce cholesterol?

No, it's because my heart rate has been really high lately and I think it's just that I haven't been doing much cardio, but since I've been injesting about 250-300g of protein a day, much from beef, I thought my increased heart rate was from cholesterol. Also, my family has a history of high cholesterol levels, so I thought that might be part of it as well.

Yeah, I know the cheerios and oatmeal was serious. I've been eating a bowl of oats in the morning everyday & before I workout. And yes, I will be cleaning up my diet drastically starting tomorrow, I promised myself and yeah, I'll have to start up cardio again.

You know of any other things that can help with reducing bad cholesterol?

    Here is some info.

Supplements can also help. Antioxidants, like Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Selenium, and Zinc can help neutralize free radicals before they form the plaque that can leave deposits. Fatty acids, such as EPA and DHA which are found in Omega 3 fish oils, may also help break apart triglycerides in the blood, lowering their levels in the body.

Plant sterols and stanols are also proven natural cholesterol reducers. Until now these ingredients were mainly found in specialty margarines and salad dressings. More than 40 years of research, including hundreds of clincial studies on plant sterols and stanols, have demonstrated their ability to reduce cholesterol levels safely and effectively. Sterols and Stanols work to lower cholesterol levels by blocking LDL`s ability to re-absorb into the body. Proprietary clinical studies conducted by Novartis Consumer Health, a world leader in nutritional science, found that 1.8 grams per day of Reducol, the main ingredients in sterols and stanols, lower LDL cholesterol levels by up to 24 percent when used in conjunction with a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol.

id jump on some omega 3's, and red yeast rice. If your not wanting to cut, id do some low intensity cardio for 30-40min.

I guess I don't know what you mean? Is it worth having lowered cholesterol - YES does a great job.

Is it worth not feeling hot and itchy? I guess that depends on if you like that or not.

    Its not anymore expensive.

Flush free niacin can be used up to 1g 3x daily i beleive, look into policosinol, red yeast rice, and kyolic garlic extract has been shown to mimic the effects of hdl in the body. All good supps. Usually supps like r-ala, green tea, and alcar help. They can be picked up at the anabolic fitness store. They have great stuff.

Not yet, but my heart has been beating irregularly and it's just a hunch. I'm planning on getting my bloodwork done in the near future, but I've been pushing it off for quite some time now.

Thanks everyone else for the responses.

fish oil and red yeast rice are thereal deal. Even more so the red yeast rice. It is actually what most prescription drugs for cholesterol are derived from yet it is not a statin. Only problem with the yeast is it does not come cheap.

Apple Cider Vinegar the Heinz in the bottle. Take aprox 1oz pour into small tumbler glass and add cranapple or i use Crystal Lite Raspberry Ice and mix. I take it at night with a Bayer asprin. One of the best things to lower bp and the asprin help with platlet flow. I have also used and continue to use Red Yeast Rice(2 caps ed for 1200mgs). You can also use Niacin flush free.
