Default dextrose after cardio days, or only after weights?
I ask because with weight training and martial arts I am doing something everyday and was wondering if i should be taking dextrose after cardio days as well as my lifting days.

I'm a boxer that trains twice a day 6 days per week. I take a pwo shake with dextrose after both workouts. I never have issues dropping fat and I have not overtrained since I started doing it. It may not be good for everyone. I don't really know the reasons why it's a bad idea. I just pointed out the fact that I do it and I can stay fairly lean. I eat very few carbs other than these shakes and my pwo meals.

I think it depends on your goals. Most people would say no to consuming simple sugars after cardio because cardio is often done to reduce body fat (or keep it at bay). Consuming simple sugars after cardio may be counter productive if your intent is to loose body fat. If you are doing cardio just for general health, and body fat is not an issue, then simple sugars post cardio may not be a bad idea...especially if your naturally lean and especially if your an ectomorph.
In your case with wrestling, you seem to be getting a cardio workout AND breaking down muscle fibers. In this case simple sugars may not be a bad idea post wrestling practice as your body is under much more stress than just a typical cardio workout.
I would say, if body fat is an issue with you, keep simple sugars to a minimum post wrestling practice and down a whey protein shake. If you are naturally lean and body fat is not something you struggle with, consuming some simple sugars post wrestling practice may be a good idea, just be sure to include some protein either way.
Bottom line, there is not one answer that is right for everybody. It depends on the individuals body type and their goals.
    Hope this helps...good luck bro!

sorry he offended you SUPER BODYBUILDING NUTRITION GURU. ohh wait

keep your frustrations to yourself not an online forum where people are here to learn how to make themselves better.

now to help out as best i can, i think the pwo shake idea will work if you have a low sensitivity to insulin and a fast metabolism. technically the pwo shake will help reduce cortisol after your wrestling workouts, however if you have a slow metabolism, too many pwo shakes poer week might catch on. my suggestion, start with lower amounts of dextrose and/or maltodextrin to see how it affects your body. protein intake need not change.
