Default Super Weight Gainer or Whey Protein?
    Hi,

Ran out of supplements so about to go to pick some up....

Getting a few months worth of creatine, and can't decide on whether to get another few months worth of whey protein or just go all out for a load of super weight gainer (1500 calories per shake).

I'm trying to keep the fat down, but I understand I wont grow without the calories too.

    Which one?

    Cheers Walls.

I would go with the whey. Eat more and clean to keep the fat to a min.

Just get a protein powder, don't waste money on weight gainers. Most of them are just loaded with sugar.

Get a good Isolate Protein powder and you are set. If you want to increase the calories in your shake, add in some oats and/or EFA

if you want a wt gainer jus make it your self get a good protien or protien blend.

    heres my favorite wt gainer:
    16 oz whole milk
    2 raw lrg eggs
    1/2 cup egg beaters
    2 tbls hvy whipping cream
    1 tbls safflower oil
    1 tbs wheat germ
    1 tbls honey
    i med/lrg banana
blend for a brief moment..let the wheat germ settle
    then i add
1 scoop ON casien protien powder
    1 scoop egg protien powder
taste great and filling...right around 80-90 g pro, approx 77 carbs, and lil over 50 g fat..this is def a wieght gainer..take down all at once or split it up...i split it..enjoy...

If you are going to buy a protein powder, stick to the whey, a weight gainer usually has a lot of sugar to simply make it high in calories. For a reasonably priced, tasty, high quality protein I like ON 100% whey, Chocolate or Chocolate Mint.

Thanks for the advice guys, went out and got a great deal from a local health shop on 3kg's of Strawberry flavoured Whey by Body Fortress. Normally I use the plain flavour but got a little sick of that. Only cost £24.99 was on half price. Got some Creatine Monohydrate, and L-Glutamine too, so that's me stocked for Christmas YEY!

As everybody said, go for the whey protein.
Add oats and powder milk and you'll have your weight gainer.

When you say add oats - do you mean add them dry straight out of the packet?

Old fashion oats. Add them to the blender (mixed with the whey and milk or water).

WHEAT GERM is another good carb to add much smaller amounts though like 2-4 tbls....blend it and what ever liquid you use 1st then let it settle then add protien and blend again.
