Default What is your favorite post workout meal?
I just wanted to see what everyone else uses for a post workout meal.
I use 8oz. of water and 2 scoops of my whey protein with about 80-100g. of dextrose.
Let me know what you do!

This shake is great post workout--I tried and I plan on making it my post workout shake for the drive home. I freeze the bananas first before blending it tastes better that way--Our gym has a little room with blenders and a fridge -only us psychos are allowed to use it so I always make a shake right before I drive home.

haha yeah good stuff fellas...that shake that adidamps2 posted sounds like the HULK shake from Smoothie King, good stuff right there. I guess it all depends on what style you are looking at too- slow or fast acting. I have a friend who goes the slow way and he takes:
    12oz milk
    2 scoops whey protein
2 scoops of vanilla ice cream
    some honey
    1 lg. banana
    1 T. peanut butter

Fat should not be included in your Post-Workout meal. It slows down the absorption of the protein and carbs your body needs during that PW window.

I hear ya on the fat JT thats why I dont really ever mix my whey shakes with milk. Milk digests about as slow as a T-Bone steak! I never want to mix my fast acting protein with slower acting things. My friend swears by his shake tho, I'm just trying to get more ideas.

I hate eating PWO. I usually feel like I'm going to throw up. Most often I'll choke down a protein shake and/or a meal replacement shake. 70 grams of protein minimum.

i dont believe in just taking whey and carbs in after a wo..i want something thats gonna feed my muscles for the next few hrs afterwards and give me the energy i need over a course of time and not just slammmin my system with quick acting stuff...do i still occaisonly take just whey and carbs after a WO yes but not often...usually if im dieting down..

    1/3 hydrolized 520 protein
    1/3 HRS (Hydrolyzed Rice-based Carbohydrate)
    1/3 zerocarb isopure
    2000 mg CEE
    1 tbs spirulina
    6 ozs soymilk

this shake tastes like crap, but it packs it all in there. the results are incredible (like the taste), i think its because of the great absorbtion properties of the proteins/carbs. not too pricey. i like to wait about a half hour for my natty gh to peak, and still be able to take advantage of the bodies ability to take in more protein post work out.

That's why I eat another meal high in Protein and Carbs an hour after my PW shake.

One more thing from me. The dextrose is good stuff and I like it, but I it makes the shakes pretty thick. I guess you could use more water if you wanted, but that also means more to drink. So you can decide - thick shake or a lot of shake. Either way, when you try to burp, you'll get those chocolate whey bubbles that come up instead...!

For bulking I would have a large bowl of oatmeal cooked with 3 egg whites, two scoops of chocolate protien powder and two table spoons of peanut butter. A glass of grape juice on the side.
