    Default Protein?
I am going to take a week off of working out, should I still take my protein shakes daily?

Yes, maintain your protein intake. You still need it to maintain and build muscle. Just because your body is resting doesn't mean that it is not repairing itself.

I'm not sure either because I was told that when you are just taking protein with out training it just makes you gain fat?

Excess calories make you fat, not protein. The only thing that helps to maintain muscle is amino acids/protein, along with plenty of calories.

Remember, your muscles grow while they're resting. So while they're resting and trying to grow - give them what they: protein.

Ditto....a lot of people don't seem to realize this. Protein intake when you take a few days off is just as important as when you are hitting the gym each day.
