Default TRUE PROTEIN VS. METRX! Please Advise
I have read numerous threads regarding True protein's protein supplements, and I have researched their products on their site. I have used the standard Metrx meal replacement for years, and have gotten excellent results. But, I am not an advocate who thinks Metrx is necessarily the best. Like all of you, I am looking for a product that will yield maximum results. I would like to get more bang form the buck, but I am willing to pay a higher price for a superior product. If you were to examine the contents of metrx, including the amount of protein in eack packet, along with the carbs, vitamins and minerals, it is very impressive. Is metrx overrated? Has anyone used metrx before and is using true protein formulas with better results. Is true protein high grade protein?

Upon visiting the true protein site, I created a protein mixture that consisted of 34% WPI Ion Exchange Whey, 33% micellar casein, and 33% whole egg protein. Is this a good formula? Does anyone have a tried and true formula?

Forgivfe me for being long-winded, and I greatly appreciate any advice and suggestions on this matter. Thank you in advance.

    Hey bud--

I don't know METRX from experience but looking at the nutritional facts IŽd suggest to get a TP protein and blend in some shredded oatmeal, that will do the same - cheaper.

For your mixture - should it be a post-workout/prebed/everyday blend?
If you want to go with a protein that you can have anytime, it seems like a good choice - for post workout, IŽd stick to ion exchange/coldfiltration only and mix it with some grape juice and maybe some malto and/or dex.

    Greets, dave

I would skip on the whole egg and get egg white instead. The reason being is the whole egg has a lot of fat in it, where as the metrx formula does not. Other wise this is a great mix. But it isn't a meal replacement until you add those carbs in there. As number6 mentioned, ground up oats (would be my first choice)or maltodextrin (what is used in the metrx formula) would round this out nicely.

Thanks guys for the help. I opted to use whole egg because I have an extremely fast metabolism, and I am looking for the added fat and calories. But, I know you must consider other factors with whole egg like cholesterol. Maybe the egg white is best.
