Ephedrine......

I was at a convenience store this morning on the way to the gym and behind the counter they had bottles of ephedrine. I thought ephedrine/ephedra was banned? I asked the guy how he still sells it and he said that only ephedra was banned. Which is it? I bought a few bottles anyway, but I'm just curious as to how long he will still be able to sell it.

Ephidrine is an alkaloid of the ephedra herb, as is pseudoephedrine found in decongestants. These are all still legal.

The only thing that was banned was ephedra, supposedly because it's actual alkaloid content is not regulated. Ephidrine is regulated, so it's legal.
