    Default Can this be right?
Ok I have been taking Protien for about 6mnths 3 shakes a day 150 grms. I have not put on a pound from it and it seems I have shredded up a bit. Pretty shredded now. I started to take Creatine 3 weeks ago 1 shake per day and now in the past week or so I have gained about 6 pounds. I am unsure if this is weight gain or musle gain or just water gain. I have taken Creatine in the past but a different brand and it did nothing. I just am a bit freaked out becuase i don't want to put fat or bad weight on. I have lost over 55 pounds so I am a bit freaked out. any insight would be great thanks.

If you gained 6 lbs of fat in a week, you'd know it because it would be pretty obvious in the mirror (since I'm assuming that you're a low bodyfat if you're "ripped".) And if you think about it, you would have needed to eat over 3400 EXTRA calories per day to gain that much fat in a week, and probably only if it were mostly carbs.

The weight from the creatine you put on is pretty much water. This is similar to if you do a carbup...you'll gain a few pounds of water weight.

If you're not gaining muscle, then you need to up the calories. Protein shakes aren't going to make you gain a bunch of muscle magically. You need to eat enough carbs, protein, and fat...all from real food. That combined with lifting and lots of rest will get you muscle mass.

Thanks Frosty. I think alot of it is in my head. Just freaked me out a bit. My diet is very clean. I get about 300 grms per day of protien half from shakes and the other half from real food. I also get a good amount of carbs from brown rice and cous cous and multi grain bread. I don't eat any sugar except with my creatine. I also eat alot of chix turkey, and lean meat. So diet is very clean. I just feel a bit more bloated than usual and feel like i am carring more weight.
