most people say 18 years old to use most OTC supps. protein suplementation could be younger.

You can, but creatine products with dextrose already mixed in are overpriced, such as Cell Tech. If you must have dextrose with your creatine, just check out some online sites and get some creatine($20) plain creatine monohydrate that is, and get a 2 lb bag of dextrose for like $4.

BTW, dextrose is NOT a complex carbohydrate, rather it is a simple carbohydrate, just to clear that up. So it takes almost NO effort to be broken down.

U should take it before and after workout, 0.5grams per bodypound each time (it depends on if youre on a diet)
Take it together with the creatine.

    Ofcourse dont forget the proteins!

Here's my recommendation for workout nutrition:

20-30g dextrose, glucose, or maltodextrin 15-20 minutes before workout.

    During workout:

    Protein:
    0.4g/kg LBM BCAAs

    Carbs:
12-72 reps per workout - 0.400g/Kg of LBM
73-200 reps per workout - 0.533g/kg of LBM
200-360 reps per workout - 0.666g/kg of LBM
360-450 reps per workout – 0.800g/kg of LBM

    Post-workout

    Protein:
    0.6g/kg LBM

    Carbs:
12-72 reps per workout - 0.600g/Kg of LBM
73-200 reps per workout - 0.800g/kg of LBM
200-360 reps per workout – 1.000g/kg of LBM
360-450 reps per workout – 1.200g/kg of LBM

    1 hour post-workout (solid food)

    Protein:
    0.4g/kg

    Carbs:
12-72 reps per workout - 0.400g/Kg of LBM
73-200 reps per workout - 0.533g/kg of LBM
200-360 reps per workout - 0.666g/kg of LBM
360-450 reps per workout – 0.800g/kg of LBM

damn you guys making a simple event like weight lifting complicated. this is not rocket science. we're building muscle not bridges. eat a piece of fruit before you got to the gym. take in carbs and protein after workout. it dont matter what kinda of carbs it is either.

The kind of carbs is the most important key!
Taking Low glicemic carbs before training is good!
High glicemic carbs are ONLY good after training! Frutose after training used for glycogen compensention don't make sense because (in a simple way) it will only compensate the liver! Not the muscles!

And Dextrose is a SIMPLE sugar! High glicemic index and glicemic load, and a spike of insulin from it!

the kind of carbs is not the most important thing. making progress with weight on the bar is. if it was we would all be ronnie colemans or ed coans. get a grip.

the stuff you say is old school and been around for years. this is 2004 and new info has broken out in my gym. lololol and if i may what are your stats and numbers? you guys kill me with all this scientific stuff. we are building muscle. if youy eat, rest and lift you will grow. time you carbs to lean out and get stronger. its very simple. i train a lot of folks and we all (not some) gettin great results wether bulking or cutting so i must be doin something right. my results are real life and not some study done on a mouse some where in idaho. ask anybody on here who has tried my method. (it aint even my method i got it from someone else) this is SIMPLE STUFF. dont complicate it.

couple months ago i had a guy saying fructose was no good preworkout. he said glucose was the only way to go. i posted a study showing how glucose must be broken down to fructose before the body uses it for energy. but you know what? even that study didnt convince me til i tried it and saw that it is works. simple sugars work after a workout if you like.

common guys lighten up and have fun. dont be so serious this stuff is fun. dont make a drudgery out of it.

I was trying to say that the type of carbs are important (in some way, of course) in the bodybuilding and not the most important!

Everyone wouldn't take results by just controlling the carbs and messing up with the rest, or with the protein intake!

Well, in some points i agree with you! Others i don't!
Of course that in a simple matter we just have to after a workout put some carbs and protein!
    Train hard, eat, and rest!
You are aiming the basic! True - everyone should know that, but you know if you wanna get lean you have to take control of the type of carbs for eg...

You also should know that size isn't knowleadge!

I don't disagree with you, but you also read that "scientific stuff" too...

Man, insaned is one enthusiastic dude. Are you related to Tony Little?

One thing I think many people don't understand is that fruit is not 100% fructose. Generally fruit is 50% fructose but also 50% GLUCOSE. Bananas are even better because they're only 30% fructose, while 30% glucose and 30% starch. I just want to make this clear because some people avoid fruit post-workout for some reason, like it will make their muscles atrophy.

no but knowledge leads to size. lololololol good posts everyone. i enjoy a good banter now and again. and yes i read all the validated data i get my hands on. lololololol just seems latley the more i read about carbs the more conficting data i see. some reports show what you say and some say carbs is carbs. kinda like protein. i have finally just come to the conclusion that most of these phds are just doin busy work to get paid or grad students workin on thesis to graduate post these results. bottom line is we are the guine pigs and some react diferently to stimuli than others. i studied about aas for at least a yerar before i started pokin myself. you know what? i found that all the data i read was not right. some of the stacks "they " recommended where not as efective as some they did not recommend. once again i was a human guine pig and found what works in real life and not under some microscope. however that is where i started from. good luck guys. you rekon the original poster is confused now? lolololololol heheheheehehehe

Your scientific knowledge together with your
testing of the theories in practice is extremely
valuable to us 'little people' . Lets write a paper and send it to Nature! Seriously !
