Default What kind of protein shake do you use?
I was just wondering what kind of shake people use or have used in the past.
What was the best and what was the worst.
And what is the nutritional info on it.
    Calories?
    Protein?
    Fat?
    Carbs?

I really like Optimum Nutritoin 10% whey Chocolate. It has the same Nut panel as above. I tastes decent in water. I always throw mine in a blender with some frozen melon and it makes a nice cold smoothie after working out. When I am bulking I throw some milk in there and some penut butter with a touch of ice cream. yummmyyyy

Right now I'm using a 10lb tub of concentrate.
Per scoop 24gm protein, 5 grams carbs, 2 gm fat
I like chocolate because it tastes better with water than vanilla.

Right now I have 100% whey ( vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry) ... Syntrax nectar strawberry kiwi ... cytosport muscle milk (chocolate peanut-butter, strawberry) ... and I have a few custom protein factory blends.

My favorite tasting is the Nectar strawberry kiwi. The best over all value I have had is the 100% whey.

The other day I got a strawberry kiwi gatorade at the gym and mixed a few scoops of strawberry kiwi nectar in the blender for my post workout shake and it was so ****ing good.

It's not just the amount of protein per serving because scoop sizes vary. You have to divide the protein amt by the scoop capacity. So far I found ON to have the best protein percentage, but I'd swear I just bought 10 lbs of fart powder.

I use Black Star Labs Whey Protein Concentrate, Orange Cream, with just milk the flavor is OK, if you mix it with a banana and 2 scoops of peanut butter the taste is unbeatable, I used to drink ON's 100% Whey Vanilla but I can't stand the flavor, not even with different fruits, peanut butter, oatmeal, etc......

Optimum Nutrition doesn’t really have the highest percentage of protein.

Optimum Nutrition: 28.4g per serving /23g of protein = 80.99%
    LTN: 45g per serving /39g of protein = 86.67%

I have been drinking cytosport's EvoPro this last week (i'm drinking it as I type this). JEEBAS! This stuff tastes so GOOD! I got the apple and cookies n cream. The cookies n cream is so good that I crave drinking it hehe

    26g PROTEIN

    3g L-GLUTAMINE

    ONLY 3g CARBS

    ZERO TRANS FAT/LOW SATURATED FAT

    MICELLAR CASEINS

    MORE COMPLETE THAN WHEY

    ADDED GLUTAMINE PEPTIDES

An important note about micellar caseins, L-glutamine, and lactoferrin. CytoSport researchers believe, and there is
significant scientific agreement in support of the fact, that these intact, native, non-denatured,
bioactive milk components, as they are included here in EvoPro, offer maximum
bioavailability and lean muscle supporting benefits.

Intense exercise causes a dramatic rise in free radicals and a simultaneous depletion of the amino acid pool, particularly L-glutamine. These events cause inflammation, damage to muscle tissue, protein catabolism,
and fatigue. Lactoferrin helps your body fight free radical damage, while the rich, extended amino acid pool concentration,
supported by micellar caseins and an abundance of L-glutamine, assure the availability of these nutrients critical to muscle tissue repair and recovery.

THE NEWEST MEMBER OF THE MUSCLE MILK FAMILY
EVOPROTM is the protein inside famous MUSCLE MILK, the world’s best tasting, ultimate lean muscle formula. EVOPRO was formulated by the ultimate protein designer, NATURE, to be maximally anabolic and anti-catabolic.
We believe EVOPRO is the most powerful, clinically complete, perfect protein ever
    available.

    STOKE YOUR FAT BURNING FURNACE
Four or five small servings during the day is the ideal way to stay anabolic all day long.Never hungry, more energetic. Combining this small portion technique with resistance and weight training will help promote lean muscle mass, the very element crucial to burning stubborn, stored fat.

    WAKE UP SLEEPING GROWTH RECEPTORS
Surprise! Studies show taking in mothers’ milk factors can wake up inborn growth receptorseven in adults. These growth receptors, which help boost immunity and growth in infants, are ‘turned on’ to exert anabolic metabolism. Whether you’re 4 or 44, these growth receptors are ready to be awakened, and lactose free EVOPRO is the best way.

    BEATS WHEY ALONE
Whey is great! Problem is, it’s only part of mother’s milk–the gold standard anabolic formula. We believe (so does Nature) that whey works best when complexed with micellar casein. That’s why mother’s milk contains both. A popular misconception, touted mostly by the ‘whey guys’, is that whey is better because it is absorbed faster. In fact, it is a
casein fraction that first empties from your stomach after ingestion, not whey. In total, whey is faster acting, while micellar casein releases protein, peptides and aminos more slowly. The point is, together, whey and casein provide protein coverage superior to either whey or casein individually.

    OPEN YOUR ANABOLIC WINDOW
Anabolic window is the period of time in which muscle growth potential is greatest. When the window is open, protein (muscle
growth) synthesis can occur. Positive nitrogen balance and IGF-I are at their peak. When the window closes, you go into negative nitrogen balance and a catabolic state. EVOPRO keeps your personal window open longer by delivering
the ultimate protein team – whey and micellar caseins.

    THE POWER OF PEPTIDES
Glutamine, the most abundant amino acid in human milk, is also highest in EVOPRO at three grams per serving. Glutamine protects muscle, improves recovery, boosts immunity and more. We take glutamine a step further by delivering most of this amino powerhouse in it’s bio-active peptide form. Glutamine peptides have been shown to greatly increase absorption compared to this amino in it’s free form.

    cure, or prevent any disease.

    Net. Wt. 2.25 lbs. (1024g)

    INGREDIENTS
Micellar Alpha and Beta Caseins and Caseinates, Whey Protein Isolate (rich in Alpha-Lactalbumin, Beta Lactoglobulin,
Glycomacropeptides, Lactoferrin, Lactoperoxidase), Milk Protein Isolate, Glutamine Peptides, L-Glutamine, Purified Bovine Colostrum Extract, LTaurine, LEANLIPIDSTM Trans Fat Free Lipid complex (Canola Oil, Sunflower Oil, Enzyme Engineered Polyunsaturated Long-Chain Vegetable Oils, MCTs), Natural and Artificial Flavors, Maltodextrin, Cellulose
Gum, Xanthan Gum, Carrageenan, Acesulfame Potassium, Sucralose.

    DIRECTIONS
Mix one scoop EVOPRO in four to six ounces water (less water makes a thicker shake). Your protein requirements may
vary depending upon gender, body weight, level of activity, workout/training intensity, total diet and recovery needs. For best results in conjunction with intense weight training, take four or five servings of EVOPRO spaced evenly throughout the day.

    One serving upon rising

    One serving at mid-morning

    One-two servings immediately after workout

    One serving before bedtime

Remember, just one level scoop of EVOPRO adds 26 grams of perfect,
complete protein to anything to which it’s added… with very little carbs or fat!
