You should have put a few more choices up like wrestling, sambo, boxing, etc.

Absolutley. It is also a MMA...which includes Kick Boxing, Hapkido, and tracings of Muay Thai. Alot of deadly stuff. Unfortunatly, theres not much ground fighting involved. But anything you can do standing up you can apply to grappling and ground fighting positions.

It's a system of fighting. It's just different than most martial arts.

Did you see it when they did it on Human Weapon? The guy got stabbed like over and over. And then at about 4:56 of the video..(that i posted)...he gets stabbed in the neck because hes wrestling with some other dude on the floor. How the hell was he supposed to see that comming? Theres like no wrong or right way to do any techniques...to me thats not a system. It trys to teach you how to fight off multiple attackers. But in the street...when your out numbered...your out numbered. Its not practical..IMO
I would love to know how well it works for the Israeli soldiers. People say it works for them but...IDK.

during my tours in Iraq we had quite a few diffrent systems we could train with. From my opinion Krav Maga i felt the most convident with, true it may not seem like a system, but in a practical sense i was the most effective, and that being the key word " effective"

There isn't a #1. Its all great if you are a BJJ black belt, but if someone has a distinct weight advantage and you can't take him to the ground you are basically useless. Or a good boxer/ kick boxer may knock you out with one shot.
Boxing is great until someone takes you to the ground.
I may have to say wrestling is the best. If you have a good wrestling and know the mechanics of takedowns you can get bigger guys on the ground pretty easy. In BJJ class I get taken down by guys 50lb lighter than me because I have zero wrestling background and they have wrestling. I am alot stronger, but I don't have good takedown defense and offense (yet)
Once on the ground, ground and pound isn't rocket science.
If I had the goal to be the next Kimbo Slice backyard fighter I would train in everyone. You don't need to be good in anything, just enough knowledge to be able to throw punches, but also take a fight to the ground if you are against a better puncher

I never did any wrestling but have excellent takedown defense. I think part of it is leverage from height and part is having a much stronger core from doing heavy squats, deads, rows, etc. that fighters don't do.

That's the thing. It's so practical you can't even fully train it. You're never actually going to crush someone's throat or gouge their eyes in training but that's what it comes down to in a life or death situation.

i agree, now im speaking in the sense of real world situation, not something that is in a gym or on a mat. KM to me in a real world situation .. Combat or just meeting the wrong people in the street... would be effective becuse it shows you a mutitude of diffrent moves for situations and multiple assailants
-
It also shows you the fastest way to do the most damage.
