Default UFC fans at live events
I'm sure this is gonna piss CaptainAwesome off but let be preface this by stating that I AM A HUGE UFC fan and if I had to keep only one organization it would be the UFC. Now having said that,

Don't you think that the UFC fans that attend the fights are the worst fans in all of MMA. I absolutely hate how much they ****ing boo. I will give guys the whole first round to feel each other out in a title fight( as long as they're throwing some punchs kicks or trying to set up takedowns). The Chuck and Rampage fight is a perfect example. Both those guys have awesome punching power and can end a fight with one shot and I didn't have that much of a problemm with the action starting slow. I think that the fans that are at these events are usually really rich douches that are just there for the scene and to be able to say they were there. I'm just saying that because the price for a descent seat is just ****ing ridiculus.

I personally hate watching most fighters from japan, but in having watched the DREAM shows resently, I really love how the fans there applaud at the right times and rarely boo. They applaud reversals and takedown defenses and go nuts when people throw knees on the ground. The best thing about the crowd silence is being able to hear whats going on in the ring. It's ****ing awesome being able to hear the impacts and fighters breathing and talking. What do you guys think. Oh yeah, and CaptainAwesome, this is by no way an attack on the UFC or the UFC fans (me included), just the fans who attend live events. Mainly the 10,000 dudes wearing long sleeve black and whit striped collared shirts.

I kinda see what your saying.. I mean have noticed more or less at certain times or certain cards (like the Canada event) but I guess I didn't really think it was that bad overall. But as a wrestler and now fighter I'm also so wrapped up into picking apart what they are doing and analyzing, etc. that I probably tune out what the crowd is doing most of the time..lol I can say that after watching a few EliteXC cards, those fans are probably worse.
I agree with wanting to hear whats going on in the cage. I love hearing the crack of a knee or the smack of an elbow or another fighter talking shit..

Well what do you expect? Who else besides slack jawed retards would pay 400 dollars to go to an event where the action is inside a cage and you can't even see what's going on?

Japanese fans/production over UFC every time. I am so happy that Dream is here now, it's almost like Pride was never gone. Except I'm missing soccer kicks to the face of a downed opponent The thing that bothers me is ****ing Sengoku. Why divide the Japanese mma market when it is already fractured after the collapse of Pride?

hey! i have been to 2 live events! let me just say that the ufc event i went to in vegas was filled with the hottest most big tittied half naked chicks you ever saw. the one i went to in new jersey was not as good but still above average for a sporting event. its colder there and people arent used to the ufc there. regularly going to ufc events in vegas is definitely something thats in my future.

anyway, im only interested in my entertainment. so if people want to boo when they arent being entertained then thats fair as far as im concerned. they did pay $400 a ticket.

Thats what I've heard!! I will be planning a Vegas/UFC trip soon. I've heard going to a live event (especially in Vegas) is one of the best shows/expierences you'll ever have. Talked to a bro on another board who got good seats to the Penn/Sherk card and he said the whole night was just absolutely amazing. The production, the fights, the partys, everything is worth every single penny.
No, it's not something I'd go every month but I will make it a point to attend now and then. I know it will be worth it.

Fight nights in Vegas are awesome.

$400 for a ticket to an event you can't see is stupid. I ****ing love vegas and I would just go during the fight night and buy a table somewhere for $400, way better investment.

My main gripe overall is not being able to hear whats going on inside the cage. ****ing the sound at a DREAM event is awesome.

You couldn't see what was going on half the fight. And if you did see what was going on it was because you were looking at a big screen which is kind of ironic.

but thats any sporting event. you always have a better view at home. its about the atmosphere and seeing things first hand. you cant see the action as well as at home but its a different experience then sitting at home watching tv. it was a lot of fun.

Have you tried going to a local or regional Amateur/lower pro event??? Fairly cheap tickets for good seats and lots of action. Try that bro. I love going to those.

this is my general feeling about watching sporting events. i go to basketball, football and baseball games occasionally and its pretty dull and i just watch everything on the big tv anyway. the difference with the ufc event is that its a lot more fun than other sporting events. it had a more rock and roll atmosphere with the lights lower and the music going. it is not a small place but its small enough that it feels more intimate than a large stadium. the people are pretty into it and there is a lot of energy in the air. then you have the half naked big titty chicks.

so you can say that you like to see every angle but if everyone felt that way then nobody would watch live sports (in person). maybe its not for you but most people would absolutely love being there.

Yeah I've gone to a couple local and regional shows. I went to one professional fight in town and then a few months back I went to am amateur event in Portland. It was Kim Cotoure's first fight, I got to see Randy, Lindland, Chael Sonnen, Nate Marquardt, and Chris Wilson up close and personal (meaning I was shoulder to shoulder with most of them throughout the night. The only one I didn't really get close to was Randy). It was really awesome to see the guys I see on TV in person. One of my best friend's training partners was defending his belt, so I felt a bit more connected to the fights than I would normally.

Nice! ..another reason I like training with a team. I(we) all have alot vested in eachother and go for support or to corner. Makes it better when your connected like that. Clay Guida was shoulder to shoulder with us at the last one. He's so friendly and loves mixing it up with all the regular folks

Yeah my friend's team actually had 3 guys fighting and I also got to see a couple of them in a submission grappling tourney earlier in the day so it was good to have guys to root for, and I met most everyone on the team throughout the night. The pro fighters I've seen in person are much more down to earth and willing to chat with people than other sports stars would be. Sonnen and Wilson were shooting the shit with quite a few people (Sonnen is a realtor and he advertises at the fights lol).
