Great picks, but if Chuck does get it done he will fall to Jackson or Griffin shortly. I like Chuck a lot, he always is an entertaining fighter, but he is getting old.

Griffin should not be considered a legit contender at 205. Good call on Fedor though. I've got my fingers crossed he'll make his way over now that he's a free agent again. If he does the heavyweight division is his.

For Chuck to fight for the title in 08 and be champ by 09 will mean that Rampage or Forrest will have to fight twice in 08 and that ain't gonna happen with the fight being in July. They won't be ready to fight that fast. Plus depending on what Machida does to Tito, he may be you next title opponent in the beginning of 09 for Rampage/Forrest

Well like most American fight fans I'm assuming you think Sherk will win because he is strong and muscular. I'm here to tell you that six packs don't win fights. On a skill basis BJ is light years ahead of Sherk in terms of standup, submissions, and ground positioning in general.

I think that if Fedor does not end up in UFC that Brock Lesnar could make a run at the hw title by 2010.

I know that that does not fall into the parameters of the thread but damn it if I didn't want to throw that out there.

I would squirt numerous loads if Fedor were to fight Lesnar.

im not just a fight fan. im in the game.

i know abs means jack shit.

    now, standup? no way

submissions? maybe bjj, but sherk has a mean wrestling backround and does plenty of work on bjj.

ground postion in general??!?!?!?! sherk dominates position with whom ever he fights. with boarderline exception to the matt hughes fight.

His standup is awful. Have you seen the GSP fight? Sherk couldn't even stand up with him, and BJ outboxed him.

I think that the Sherk/Penn fight should be a very exciting one. BJ is quite possibly the most skilled fighter in the game. He' can't KO Sherk...he can't take him down. He can count on Sherk putting him on his back, but that's a problem for Sherk....BJ's game from his back is awesome. BJ can pepper him to death and hope for a cut, or he can get a sub from his back. Sherk will dominate the ground position, and he will press the action. BJ gets in trouble when people press because cross-fit sucks for cardio. Sherk's cardio is the best I've ever seen. So if the fight goes past two rounds, I think Sherk takes it. If he gets carried away attacking BJ, Bj will put him to sleep. It makes for an excellent fight.

Chuck...no chance. This would mean that Forrest would have to beat Rampage (Rampage has Chuck's number). Forrest cuts too easily and Rampage hits way too hard. The man on a mission in this weight class is Machida. He has the most well rounded game at 205. He is a dangerous SOB with tons of skill.

Fedor.....only if Santa comes early. I've been asking for this as my Christmas present for years. I would love to see his slovenly looking oafish self run through the UFC (except for Randy...I don't wish that on Randy at all). The thing going against him is that he really hasn't been fighting lately. He's been out of the ring too much since the fall of Pride. Lindland and Choy don't really count IMO. I would love to see Fedor and Randy fight, but I don't know if Dana's ego is going to stop that.

I agree w/alot those but I'll go out on a limb here and make the following predictions..

    LW: Roger Huerta
    WW: Matt Serra
    MW: Anderson Silva
    LHW: Quinton Jackson
HWT: (tough one here, could go anywhere) Andrei Arlovski

I think Arlovski is done in the UFC.

i got bj winning this fight, both hughes and gsp are stronger and have just as good if not better cardio than sherk, and bj did just fine with those two, i wouldnt be surprised if bj kept this a standup fight and just jabbed sherk to death for 5 rounds

Gsp made sherk look like a little *****, threw him around with ease...in the 2nd round you can hear sherk wincing in pain every time gsp hit him, Then he and hughes are laughing there asses off when he lost to serra, FAGS, well GSP got the last laugh, with hughes anyways,

Oh he got the last laugh on Sherk. Only guy to knock him out. Fights with a guy like GSP really expose the one dimensional nature of Sherk and Hughes. They meet a guy they can't muscle around and lay on and they are dead in the water.

I like BJ for this fight as well. I love Sherk but BJ is just too skilled a fighter to lose this fight. I think the only person right now capable of even threatening BJ's reign at 155 is Huerta. I see great things for Huerta's future in the UFC.
