    Is it bad for you? Whats the healthiest brand you can get other then making it yourself?

    Real jerky is healthy for you. Since it is dehydrated meat, it is high in protein while low in fat. But some of the "fake" jerky (like the stuff you get at the gas station or walmart) is processed crap! Its either made with poor ingredients (usually out of the U.S.) or processed by-products. Look at the contents of a Slim Jim the next time you are paying for gas. So stay away from the crappy stuff.

    There are many sites online that sell the cheap stuff...if it's not made in the U.S., they are cutting corners. Stick to the good stuff and you will be good.

    I have some Ostrich Jerky that is absolutely awesome. It is by far some of the best jerky i have ever had. Check it out...seriously. You will not be disappointed.

    And making jerky isnt a bad option. It isnt as difficult as people think and you can make it to taste exactly how you like it. All you need is some meat that the butcher slices for you and an oven...the rest is optional!
