    Default Question about kcals and weight maint...
    In order to maintain muscle and weight do you need to bother with the amount of Kcals consumed or is it just protein consumed (1lb per lb of bodyweight)?

    Just cant get my head around it.???

    The amount of protein you eat directly corresponds with the number of calories you eat.

    If you're eating 220g of protein then that's at 880 calories in protein. I would guess that even for a bodybuilder the majority of your daily calories don't usually come from protein.

    Protein= 4calories per gram
    Carbs= 4 calories per gram
    Fats= 9 calories per gram
