    Default PWO shake with milk
You need both protein and simple carbs after your workout, so whats wrong with drinking a protein shake with milk? Seems like extra protein and simple carbs to me (and tastes a lot better). Is the fat in the milk a problem?

The typical Bullshit bro-logic will tell you that
    1. the sugar in milk is bad (but dextrose is ****ing super!)
    2. the casein protein in milk is too slow. (dood you need whey hydroslate 520 or yer mussels will fall off.)
    3. a little fat post workout = death.

Im sure the Bros can come up with more reasons why milk is horrible post workout. Naturally, they are all bullshit.

The idea that slow digesting protein is superior to fast post workout is starting to take hold. I was also read yesterday about a study that found full fat milk cause a more anabolic response postworkout than a calorically equal amount of fat free milk. They dont know why.

Ok, thats what i figured. I've been drinking my shakes after lifting with milk, just because it seems logical and tastes better. I just didn't understand why everyone is so against a little milk.

I use skim milk in ALL my shakes (for the most part). Along with some Flax Oil.

The only problem i see with mixing with milk is the added calories vs water 0 calories. To me its not that big of a deal I drink a half gallon of skim milk every day.

I think the main issue, as Squeeze mentioned, is the theory that "fast" proteins such as whey are crucial post workout. The theory makes sense but as he mentioned, there seems to be some evidence building that the type of protein consumed isn't that important or that a mix of types may actually be more beneficial. In any event, I think if you want to use milk there is probably little or no downside.
