 Curious...
How many cups of popcorn do you think is in a large popcorn (a typical large one that you get at the movies)?

After it's popped. I'm talking about when you are at the movies. They don't have you sit there for 15 minutes while it's being made...lol.
But anyways, yeah...after it's popped.

I was assuming you might be making some at home or somthing so you'd need the unpopped measurments, nevermind just me looking too much into things. Well because cups vary from esspresso cups to big ass latte cups I'd say about 5 pint classes which isnt a cup at all.... meh.

Hm...
The thing is, I am going to the movies later, and I want to get a large popcorn (who gets a small or medium...honestly). I was wondering how many ounces or cups of popcorn were in a large. I am trying to use calorie king to figure out the nutrition facts of it so I can plan out my meals today so I don't go over maintenance and to make sure everything is in check. I know for a fact there is more than one cup in a large bag of popcorn.

According to calorieking: 20 cups, 1283 calories, 78g fat. Keep in mind this is without butter

Its OCD and obnoxious as hell, but you could pop a bag at home and smuggle it in the movies in your girlfriends purse and only be out 20 calories per cup.

Not sure where the huge discrepancy in calories comes from between the two. Either one or both of the measurements are off, or movie theaters do something along the lines of soaking the kernels in butter before popping.

Good thing I have OCD then, cause I just might do that.
I figured it was 20 cups as well, that was the number I put into Calorie King. Also, I don't put butter on my popcorn, the butter at the movies is disgusting.

A cup is a cup. 8 oz.

A US large popcorn is probably 3x the size of a UK large popcorn!! But at least half the price.
