    Default eating with work
between work and school its hard to get my meals in during the day but i manage really well lately due to a light school sched. My problem is though, that I go to work immediately after I lift, and therefore can't eat a proper post workout food meal until like 3 1/2 hours later. I lift and immediately drink a whey shake but I am pretty sure that my body needs the real whole foods asap and I am not able to get it so I feel that I may be derailing some of my gains. The ****ed up thing is that I work in food service during these times yet cant eat because we arent allowed and I am always moving around also at work. Got any ideas on what I can do? Is it really a problem that I am not feeding my body within the 2 hrs of lifting or is that a myth? Lifting time is fixed also and cant be changed

You maybe over thinking this bro... I believe that if your getting enough wholefoods throughout the rest of the day, you should ok. I would just make sure you have a decent meal a few hours before your workout.. Good slow digesting carbs and protein from meat, fish, chick, etc.. This meal will still be digesting throughout your work out and after, hence fueling and feeding your muscles. The protein shake after is a great added bonus. Then eat your next meal when you can. It's that simple..IMHO

protein powder + ground oats + olive oil or peanut butter + fruit + whatever else will allow you to meet your macro goals.

thats what i was thinking and hoping. I had a bud who I lifted with that said it was necessary that I eat a whole food meal within 2 hrs, but i wasnt sure if that stood true or not

sometimes when i lift late at night, i'll go to bed after a shower and protein shake...no whole foods. I do wake up hungry as hell but i'm not losing ground this way.

You were right.. Your bud was most likely referring to peep's who train on an empty stomach or first thing a.m. before breakfast.. in that case, yes, you'd probably want to eat asap after training.
