Default Quick 1 minute oats and old fashioned
Any difference between the two? Im talking the plain stuff. I dont have time for old fashioned shit but I was wondering if eating the quick 1 minute oats can be substituted while cutting. i eat plain.

quick oats come from old fashioned oats, they are just processed to a greater degree than rolled oats, which are processed to a greater degree than steel cut oats (and IIRC theres an oatmeal thats even less processed than steel cut, but i could be wrong). So yes, theyre pretty much interchangable.

although, Alton Brown said he wouldnt even feed them to his horses.

ignore the pointless 20 second intro: the wholel show is about oats, but the relevant part starts at the 5:05 mark.
