    Question Bodybuilding's Future?
What are you looking for in top bodybuilders?

I've been a fan of bodybuilding for many years, dating back to the late 60's. Bodybuilding then focused on very muscular, well-built guys who were also well-proportioned and symmetrical (Franco Columbu, for instance). Additionally, definition and six pack abs were important.

Many of today's bodybuilders seem to focus mostly on size, bigger is better. And the six pack abs have turned into kegs.

So what do you think? Should bodybuilding head towards size or towards proprotion and muscular definition?

I prefer more proportion and muscle definition over being just freaky huge!
I don't like the distended stomachs that we so often see onstage now.
One of the most perfect builds in bodybuilding in my opinion is Darrem Charles. He's got great muscularity but he's still very symmetrical.(sp?)

Dexter Jackson looks like he now has it all. He's getting bigger but tighter with each contest.

I also like DJ, but as you said Sandie most BB this day and age are producing Kegs for abs and DJ is one of them.

When he can be bothered to get his ass in the gym and be serious Kevin Levrone IMO has everthing.

I have always looked for line and a body that has a nice natural flow Franco, Zane, Flex and now Dexter. A body pleasing to the eye.

Let's hope people like Victor and Darrem can lead the way with the future of BB.

If only I could look like this.

I also think they are getting to big and bulky. I have been lifting since the 60's and following the sport as well.

It might take someone dying for all of it to change.

I hope not, but Dexter winning the SOS over Jay has to be a good thing, and maybe a dawn of a new era?

They do. Not much hope of Victor looking like that for a few years.

Ya, Victor really showed some star potential at the NOC but now he's locked up in jail for a little bit. Im curious to see how the layoff will affect him as he was just starting to come into his own.

    In my opinion:
Ask yourself "would people buy a car with 200HP if there COULD be a car with 300HP"?

I like Dexter, but to me personaly bodybuilding in muscle!
