Default Anymore cottage cheese and I might puke
I've been eating cottage cheese with apples, pineapples, or yogurt for too long. I'm getting to the point that I have to just drink it down with water.

Any ideas on how to add some variety?

    Thanks!

LOL! Poor thing. Use it to mix in with your eggs for scrambled eggs. Eggs, cottage cheese, salsa.......good to go!

EDIT: Cottage cheese is not whey protein. It is casein protein along with some whey protein. The process of making the curds appears to leave some whey behind. Also, whey is literally added to cottage cheese ("whey" is listed on the ingredients list of cottage cheese)

Cottage cheese is mostly whey protein, right? I think it is StoneColdNTO that keeps suggesting people should eat real food and not just whey protein shakes. Since cottage cheese is whey protein, I generally consider whey protein shakes to the equivalent to cottage cheese, except that the cottage cheese is solid, which I prefer.

I guess that none of this answers your question. I drink a lot of whey protein shakes and I do eat a good bit of cottage cheese, but I don't emphasize the cottage cheese because I really prefer to get other forms of protein (that is, meat) as much as possible. But damn, cottage cheese sure is convenient. I guess I keep it around so that I have something to put in my stomach when I need something quick, but I don't want to eat some carbs+fat+salt snack that doesn't have any protein whatsoever.

I wonder what sugar-free jello would taste like in cottage cheese.

I always was under the assumption that cottage cheese was mainly casein protein.

It is casein,NOt whey. It's much better than whey, takes longer to for the body to break down.

    Default Yummy Cottage Cheese "Canollis"
1 container fat free cottage cheese
1 container (small) low fat ricotta cheese
    1/2 cup splenda
2 heaping tbs fat free, sugar free pudding (any flavor)- white chocolate tastes best, in my humble opinion

mix to smooth in blender- yummy by itself or make canoli shells

    Canolli shell recipe:
    2 scp whey
2 scp flour (use the whey scooper)
    1/2 cup egg whites
add water to make a runny consitency

heat large skillet, spray with PAM, when skillet is hot drop 1/4 batter into pan, ropll pan around until covered with thin layer of batter, when firm (about 30 sec), flip and cook other side for a few more seconds. Take out of pan eat like a crepe with the cottage cheese filling or wrap warm crepe around an EMPTY, tin foil covered Red Bull can and bake in oven at 400 degrees for 10-15 mins until golden and hard then remove from oven, let firm for 10 mins, remove can from center and let cool and firm for 1 hour then fill with cottage cheese filling- delicious and tastes like a canolli.

fitnesschick you need start your own thread for your recipes...hiding them all away in other threads makes it harder to find your great suggestions...another great suggestion from fitness.

FitnessChick can I start a thread for you on recipies???
Cottage cheese is my last PM meal of the day & if you dont like it plain try mixing with diced tomatoes & onions.
Get sick of plain chicken go get a low fat(weight watchers, example there are many others)frozen dinner with 40-50 grams of carbs slice & dice two chicken breasts & mix.........YUMMY!
