“Just wonderful on its own ”
10 cups fresh apple cider
½ cup pure maple syrup (more or less, to taste)
3 cinnamon sticks
4 whole cloves
8 strips orange peel
8 strips lemon peel
1/2 stick butter
1 half stick cinnamon for garnish
For adults add up to 6 ounces of Gran Marnier
- Pour the apple cider, cinnamon, cloves, orange peels, lemon peels and maple syrup into a large saucepan.
Place the saucepan over moderate heat for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the cider is very hot but not boiling. Then allow to cool and strain into another large sauce pan and reheat to hot then turn fire off, add the butter and cover. Stir before serving and garnish with the cinnamon stick.
