There is a preoccupation all around with people looking for the next cutting edge weight loss solution and many have forgotten the single most important liquid out there that is basically free and inexpensive and has no bad side effects.

Just because you sit all day at your air conditioned office doesn’t mean that you don’t need to drink water.  Some think that if they don’t sweat they don’t need to drink as much water or even their daily recommended allowance.  The human body needs around 64 ounces of water per day or 8 8-ounce glasses to keep all organs hydrated and running smoothly.  This means water guys, do not include diet sodas or any soda in the equation and personally I would be willing to say that for every can of soda that you drink you should drink 3 more glasses of water per day as these commercial and colorful sodas are specifically designed to DE-HYDRATE you as they are diuretic , yeah that’s right.  Just like alcohol dehydrates you sodas also do the same thing and are very affective at it.  I would stay away from all those ice-teas, commercial energy drinks and even Gatorade as it is really all that it has been built up to be anymore.  All these drinks have added artificial sugars, High fructose corn syrup which is used as a sweetener and preservative and by the way contains high levels of mercury, other toxic preservatives etc, and enough of it to cause all kinds of deadly diseases like all types of cancer, stroke, type1 and 2 diabetes, it even gets into your genes and changes your molecular structure of your cells so that it gets passed on to your children and their children etc.  All these drinks are bad stuff and should be avoided and boycotted from school cafeterias.  I mean really, how with the amount of bright minds out there that work for the giant soda manufacturers (because these companies hire the best and brightest and can afford to pay top salaries) those with Doctorates and PhD’s, do you really think that they are designed these drinks to contain these toxic and deadly chemicals on purpose or by accident?   I will leave the answer up to you.
Herein I will suggest a few things about that most precious of liquids known to man called, water.
This planet was specifically designed to contain a certain amount of water sort of like a self contained planet, so keep in mind that the water that you are drinking was also consumed by others who inhabited this planet centuries ago all the way back to Adam really.  There is a preoccupation all around with people looking for the next cutting edge weight loss solution and many have forgotten the single most important liquid out there that  is basically free and inexpensive and has no bad side effects.
Water is a natural appetite suppressant so when your body is dehydrated, it can sometimes misinterpret thirst for hunger. and in the stressful work environment that we work in, we will usually reach out for a cup of coffee, soda or anything sugary so it can both give us a quick boost in energy and at the same time curb what we believe is hunger. Since what our body is truly looking to be hydrated instead of being fed, this false signal of hunger will soon come back resulting in you indulging in a lot of unnecessary snacking.

So at the start of the work day, keep a one liter bottle of water around and try to finish everything by lunchtime

Get into the practice of carrying a bottle of water with you everywhere you go because when you have a bottle of water at your desk, you have a higher tendency to drink it than if you had to constantly get it from the pantry. So at the start of the work day, keep a one liter bottle of water around and try to finish everything by lunchtime. After lunch, replenish that bottle and aim to finish it before you finish for the day. For all you coffee drinkers, don’t think for a second that all those coffee you drink is enough to hydrate your body. Caffeine is a diuretic that actually dehydrates you. So coffee drinkers should actually drink more water instead.
Drinking water helps weight loss by ensuring your liver is metabolizing fat properly. When your body is dehydrated, your kidney functions are affected. If your kidneys cannot perform properly, the liver steps up to take on its duties and hence becomes overloaded. When that happens the liver won’t be able to help you burn fat effectively.
Water will also improve fat metabolism as our liver is an incredible organ that is responsible for metabolizing fat amongst other important functions such as cleansing your body of toxins, breaking down alcohol, etc. Metabolizing fat means converting fat to be used as energy. In short never wait till you are thirsty to drink water remember that when your body has to signal thirst to you this means you are already on the verge of dehydration and your liver is about to work overtime and in the process affecting your fat burning effectiveness and get damaged.
Drink your daily allowance and then some and you will be all the better for it.
