Starting the New Year with some positive changes in your diet

Starting the New Year with some positive changes in your diet is always a good thing and knowing what foods to eat can make a big difference in your fitness, weight and diet plans.   With all the fast foods options it’s  easy to get sidetracked and out of shape so knowing what to eat and why it’s good for you will not only be good for your health knowledge but waistline as well.

To start with you should try to include some:

  1. If you’re not eating this already try eating nut butter.  You can try only two tablespoons of almond butter will give your body 75% of its required amount of vitamin E that it needs and aids in rebuilding damage that has been done by free radicals.  Walnut, cashews and hazelnuts are also great butters to have and are also loaded with 5 grams of protein for every 2 tablespoons eaten.
  2. Many different varieties of tomatoes have been popping in local markets and you should really take advantage as they contain loads of vitamin A, C and B and are fortified with mineral chromium which is especially great for diabetics to maintain a healthy blood sugar level.
  3. Multigrain breads are not also wonderful to eat but great for your heart and can be mixed with a variety of healthy ingredients such as barley, whole wheat flour, whole grain rye and millet.  What a better way to get your grains and fiber than from a nice toasted piece of whole grain bread buttered and covered in preserved jam or honey in the morning and even as a snack.
  4. Yoghurt is always a great food to eat and snack on as some varieties contain as much as 15 grams of protein in every 6 ounces served like Greek yoghurt.

Whey is a great food to include in your diet as it is a protein and provides a great number of benefits in supporting your immune system, great for sports nutrition, overall bone health and weight management.
