Bloody Mary with shrimp

“If there ever was a perfect way to top a bloody Mary this vitamin-packed virgin cocktail would be at the top of the list, with or without the booze. Make mine a triple… shrimp that is.”

Ingredients:

  • 22 ounces fresh tomato juice or clamata juice spicy or non-spicy
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. onion powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. shrimp powdered stock
  • 1 teaspoon horseradish
  • 1/2 cup chopped white onions
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped green peppers
  • 1/2 cup medium large chunks ripe avocados, (about the size of your thumbnail.)
  • 2 Tbls. chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/8 tsp sea salt, to taste
  • 1 ounce pickle juice
  • 1/4 ounce Worcestershire sauce
  • ¾  ounce lime juice
  • 5 dashes Tabasco
  • Freshly ground pepper, to taste
  • Ice cubes
  • 10 deveined and boiled jumbo shrimp.  The best way to boil the shrimp is to boil 4 cups water together with ½ ounce dry white wine or a very good cognac, also add a good squeeze of lime juice and a dash of salt and pepper. (Some chefs have been known to boil their shrimp in white wine, or any kind of fish or animal stock which just takes it to the next level )Add the shrimp to the boiling water and boil for 1 minute, not a second longer, remove and dunk into a medium sized bowl filled with ice water, this stops the cooking process and also leaves the middle slightly nice and pink.
  • From the 10 devanied and now boiled shrimp set apart the 3 largest ones and chop up the rest.

Preparation

  1. Add all the ingredients to a large mixing bowl and mix with a large spoon. be sure to season to taste.  Ready one large margarita/red wine glass and spoon out the Bloody Mary mix into the glass. Garnish the drink with a slice of lime and the 3 shrimp and a fork and straw and enjoy!
